PRODUCT INFORMATION
Caraway grows wild in the northern Himalayas. The caraway seed is hard, brown, with sharp pointed ends. The seed has a warm odor with a pungent flavor. It leaves a warm feeling in the mouth. Similar looking to cumin, the seed is actually the fruit of biennial herbs in the parsley family. It is used to compliment breads and rice dishes.
RECIPE: Curry Rice

4 ½ tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon Rani Caraway Seeds
5-6 Rani Black Peppercorns
8-10 Fresh Curry Leaves
1 2/3 cup Rani Basmati Rice
1 medium tomato chopped
4-tablespoons tomato puree
Salt to taste
2 ½ cups of water
Handful of fresh cilantro leaves
Heat oil. Add caraway seeds and peppercorns, stir. Add curry leaves and rice, reduce heat and stir till well coated, about 2 minutes. Add tomatoes, salt, and puree. Combine and add water. Stir well, cover and cook on low heat till rice is fluffy and water has evaporated. Sprinkle with coriander leaves and serve hot.
