Thymol seeds are actually the seeds of Trachyspermum Ammi, and they are quite a common Indian spice in authentic Indian food. Thymol seeds are brown in colour and have a pungent, bitter taste. Thymol Seeds, also known as Carom seeds or Ajwain, are usually consumed as a herb in Indian households due to their numerous health benefits. Due to their digestive properties, many people consume these seeds after a meal to aid the overall digestion process. Thymol seeds are also rich in fibre. Ajwain oil is one of the essential oils that is used to ease a dreaded ear pain and toothache. Apart from that, the seeds are also used as tadka in sabzis & gravies.
