PRODUCT INFORMATION
Native to the Middle East and the Mediterranean, anise seed is botanically related to cumin, caraway, dill and fennel. It has a sweet licorice flavor with a slightly bitter bite and is highly aromatic. Anise seed heightens the flavor of meat curries, flat breads and is sautéed to top off lentil and vegetable dishes. In Europe, it is used in sweet deserts dishes and pastries.
RECIPE: Anise Tea
Prep time: 5 minutes
Chilling time: 15 minutes
Serving size: 4
2 ½ cups water
2 teabags
4 tsp. Rani Anise Seed
Honey to taste
12 ice cubes
In a small sauce pan, bring water to boil and add tea bags, anise seeds, and honey. Remove from heat and let cool. Strain while pouring tea into pitcher or glass. Refrigerate for 15 minutes. Pour over ice and serve.
