The beautiful Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth. She holds two lotus flowers, a symbol of beauty, prosperity and fertility. Two of her hands are in the abhaya and varada mudras. Her right hand is in the abhaya mudra with her plam open facing up. It is a hand gesture of protection showing her devotees that they have nothing to fear from the goddess of wealth. The varada mudra is a hand gesture of boon granting which showers abundance and prosperity onto her devotees. Her breasts are covered giving her a modest appearance. Her lavish head dress, jewelry and leggings are all finely carved fitting for the goddess of wealth. Her hands are soft and comforting each with a lotus carving on the palm.
